Gary Massoco, Mike Szczcerbiak and Mike Marusewski Win Scratch Match Play, Chris Carroll defeats Sean McNamara for the George Lesso

The 2022 season wrapped up with the final matches of the match play events, and Gary Masocco defeated Chris Carroll, Mike Szczcerbiak defeated Mike Ruppel and Mike Marusewski defeated Joe Gawlak for the A, B and C flights of the Scratch Match Play Championship, respectively, while Chris Carroll defeated Sean McNamara for the George Lesso Championship.

After the points were all totaled up, Chris Carroll won the 2022 Player of the Year title for his second Player of the Year Title in a row.

Dorobiala, Marusewski, Russell and Conmy Take Home Labor Day Titles

Congratulations to Joe Dorobiala, Michael Marusewski, Mike Russell and Fran Conmy on winning the Club's Labor Day Championship on Saturday, September 3 in the A, B, C & the Super Senior Classes, respectively.

Dorobiala's even par round of 70, net 67, was highlighted by an egale on the 7th hole on the back nine, which was enough to secure a one stroke victory for him!

McNamara, Storrey, Sulkowski and Griesinger Win at Elma Meadows

Sean McNamara, Todd Storrey, Fred Sulkowski and Chuck Griesinger were the big winners at the Club's Away Tourney held at Elma Meadows GC on August 28, 2022. Conditions were excellent, and everyone had a great time at the course and afterwards at the shelter for the party

Chris Carroll, Mike Ruppel, Mike Marusewski, and Pat McCann are your 2022 Club Champions!

The 91st Club Championshop was held on July 30 and 31 and was a tremendous affair, as nearly every member participated. Chris Carroll was crowned the king of South Park for the second year in a row after he birdied the final 2 holes to nip Paul Shein, Jr. by 1 stroke at even par 140 for 36 holes.

Mike Ruppel won his first B Class Title by 2 strokes over Mike Kuhn. Mike Marusewski won his first C Class Title in a sudden-death playoff with Chris Escott, while the very popular Pat McCann won his first Super Senior Title, defeating Ray Pulinski by 4 strokes.

South Park Hall of Fame Tournament was a BIG Success

The 2022 edition of the Hall of Fame Tournament was conducted on Sat. July 1. Though no former members were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, a great tournament was had by all. Congratulations to our 2022 Hall of Fame Tournament Champions:

A Class: Paul Schein, Jr.
B Class: Michael Szczerbiak
C Class: Ron Schul (winner in a sudden death playoff).

Irish Win 2022 Polish v. Irish Challenge Match

Congratulations go to Captain Steve Scanlon and his Irish Team on winning the 2022 Polish v. Irish Challenge Match by a team score of 686 to 710. Chris Carroll led the Irish squad to victory with a 7 under par 63 and won A Class. It was a clean sweep for the Irish because Mike Ruppel won B Class and Tom Deering won C Class.

Chris Carroll, Don Dorobiala and Tom Deering Memorial Day Champs

On May 28, the members of the South Park Golf Club were met with wet, soggy conditions for the 91st Memorial Say Tournament, but that didn't prevent great play. Chris Carroll shot a 6 under 64 to take the A Class crown by one shot over Mark Staniszewski and Jason Surdyke. Don Dorobiala nipped his son Joe to win B Class, while Tom Deering coasted to a 5 shot victory in C Class over Jeff Carroll.
