WELCOME TO THE
SOUTH PARK GOLF CLUB

The members of the South Park Golf Club invite you to read our website and find out what it is that has made South Park one of the more popular men's golf clubs in Buffalo, New York for nearly 100 years. Our members compete in weekly and monthly tournaments on the South Park Golf Course located on the border of South Buffalo and Lackawanna.

The South Park Golf Club, or "SP" as its affectionately known, is a member club of the USGA, the BDGA, and the WNYPLGA. As a member club of each of these organizations all of our members are entitled to play in any tournament or event held by these organizations. While the Club has had its share of worthy champions, including past Buffalo District and WNY Public Links Golf Association Champions, most of our members just enjoy the game of golf and the friendship of our fellow members.

As you will see, the South Park Golf Club is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and one of the most economical golfing bargains in all of Western New York. New members are always welcome, and we invite you to join our Club. Please click on any of the links to the left to find out more about SP.

RECENT CLUB NEWS:

Course Closing October 13

We have been advised that the last day the course will be open is Sunday, October 12. Olmsted and the city are shutting off the water to the course, and the temporary trailer will be returned for the season. While our friend Mike Ruppel cares, it is quite apparent none of the Olmsted Board nor the current administration care about the golfers nor the courses. Perhaps with a new mayor coming in who is friendly to our members things will change. They obviously can't get any worse.

Sean McNamara Wins 10th Club Championship

Hall of Famer Sean McNamara won a record tying 10th Club Championship in classic style when he shot his age - a 5 under par 65 - in the first round and then cruised to a 3 shot victory after a final round 75. Defending champion Gary Masocco finsihed second at 3 over 143, and Tom Wasilewski had his best finish at 3rd with a 4 over 144.

With this victory, Sean tied Tom Kozaczka with the most club championships in club history at 10 a piece. Congratulations to Sean on the victory and shooting your age and to all our flight champions: Super Senior Champion Ray Pulinski, A Class Champion Sean McNamara, B Class Mike Szczerbiak and C Class Champion Don Dorobiala.

Latest on Fire at Clubhouse

Updated as of August 28: As most people know, a fire on the night of July 22 caused significant damage to the clubhouse. Thankfully, due to the great response of the Buffalo Fire Department, the fire was contained to the front of the building and the damage was much less than it could have been. The new bathrooms were not damaged. The interior has been cleaned up, and Olmsted Parks is meeting with a contractor to get an estimate on costs. County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Assemblyman Patrick Burke have both pledged financial support to have the clubhouse back open to the public for the 2026 golf season.

South Park Wins 2025 South Buffalo Cup Challenge Match

The South Buffalo Cup is coming home to South Park: the South Park Golf Club won the Cup 23 points to 17 over our rivals the Cazenovia Golf Club!

Congratulations to playing Captain Paul Schein, Jr. and his team, and thank you to the players from the Cazenovia Golf Club for a good match. Caz holds a 5 to 3 match history win, but for 2025 South Park reigns supreme!

All individual scores can be viewed HERE.

Irish Win 2025 Polish v. Irish Challenge Match

The Team representing the Emerald Isle beat the Kadets of Polonia in the Annual Ed Krypek/Jim Schaefer Polish v. Irish Challenge Match for 2025.

As a result of this year's result, the Kadets from Polonia still hold a match lead of 25 victories to 19 from the Lads from the Emerald Isle, though the Irish hold bragging rights for the year, and the flag of Ireland will fly over the clubhouse for the next year.

All individual scores can be viewed HERE.
