Angry taxpayers vent frustrations
Erie County resident-"I mean this is ridiculous I have a cell phone and I pay for it."
That's an Erie County resident who's fed up with perks for county workers.
She and bunch of other citizens got to sound off on a county in crisis.
Comptroller Mark Poloncarz hosted today's town hall meeting in Orchard Park.
He took a lot of questions...
Including why part-time legislators get paid so much.
Taxpayer-"Legislature salaries are no drop in the bucket but my understanding is there paid more than 43 State Legislators are?"
Comptroller Poloncarz-"I can say this in regards to legislature salaries a lot of them it's their full time job...cutting Erie County Legislators salaries I think it's $42,000. a year if you cut it 10 percent that's a drop in the bucket when you need to come up with 52 million dollars."
Residents were happy to hear that a proposal to use taxpayer dollars to build a county gym on the sixth floor of the Rath building was pulled off the table.
