(Buffalo, NY, August 22, 2005) - - Democratic comptroller candidate Mark Poloncarz is speaking out on the business community's plan to save Erie County.
Poloncarz says he is disappointed in the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's recently-released report.
He says the committee failed to review the office of the comptroller in full.
Poloncarz said, "I think we need to look at the comptroller's office just as we look at every other department in county government, to find out how we can run the comptroller's office more efficiently, how we can ensure that our vendors for Erie County are paid on time so we don't have to worry about lawsuits over the heads of the people of Erie County, but, more importantly, how the comptroller's office can save people money."
Poloncarz says if elected, he will help the county executive and the Erie County legislature implement recommendations listed in the report.
