Erie County Comptroller Mark Poloncarz is looking for input from county residents. He has called a town meeting for Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. to address the financial situation of the county. At that time he will also address the status of the Four Year Plan.
It is the start of what Poloncarz calls his "Listening Tour." On that tour he plans to spend time in a number of cities and towns, addressing the concerns of residents.
Recently, Poloncarz has voice concerns about the setting of the salary for Jim Hartman to Director of Management Initatives for the county. Hartman, a former county comptroller, was appointed by County Executive Joel Giambra and receives a annual salary of $95,000 a year for his new position.
That appointment was also questioned by others because there is a person who serves a similar purpose on the county Control Board.
Both Giambra and Control Board Chairman Ned Regan have stood by the appointment saying two people are needed to address budget concerns.
The meeting will take place in the Orchard Park Town Hall in the basement meeting room on Saturday, February 11th.
