BUFFALO, N.Y. - Erie County Comptroller candidate, Mark Poloncarz, received the endorsement of the Erie County Working Families Party. The unanimous decision was reached during a meeting of the Executive Committee on Tuesday, June 7th. This is Poloncarz's second minor party endorsement after receiving the Independence Party's on May 19th.
The Working Families Party is a grassroots, community and labor based political party with chapters throughout New York State. The goal of the Working Families Party is to hold candidates and elected officials accountable on issues that affect Erie County residents of ordinary means.
"I am very happy to receive the Working Families Party's endorsement," said Poloncarz. " I think my commitment to the people of Erie County as a truly independent comptroller and not part of the partisan games that have lead us to the verge of bankruptcy is in tune with the party's core beliefs. I will be a fiscal watchdog in county hall to make sure Erie County resident's hard earned tax dollars are spent wisely."
Poloncarz is running for Erie County Comptroller to give voters a real voice in the economic recovery of Erie County. As an independent comptroller, Poloncarz will use the tools and power delegated to him to restore integrity and responsible leadership to county hall and fiscal discipline to Erie County.
