Mark Poloncarz Announces Candidacy for Erie County Comptroller
Private sector attorney calls for the restoration of integrity, responsible leadership and fiscal discipline in
Erie County government
LACKAWANNA– Lackawanna native and Buffalo resident Mark C. Poloncarz announced his candidacy for the position of
Erie County Comptroller on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 pm in front of Lackawanna City Hall, on Ridge Road in Lackawanna,
N.Y.
In a speech before over 130 family members, friends and supporters, Poloncarz promised to restore fiscal discipline,
integrity, and responsible government to Erie County. He said, “I want Erie County’s leaders to be measured on their
successes, not on their failures. The people of Erie County deserve a leader who will always hold their best interests
at heart and I know I will do a better job than those who have led us to the edge of fiscal ruin.”
Poloncarz also said, “I will be a true independent fiscal watchdog for the people of Erie County, and I will go one step
further. I’ll be a guard dog of the taxpayers’ money. I will guard your money like it’s my own.”
Poloncarz, a business and finance attorney in private practice with the Buffalo law firm of Kavinoky Cook LLP, is a 1985
graduate of Lackawanna High School, a 1989 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a 1997 graduate of
the University of Toledo College of Law.
