EDEN, N.Y. - Erie County Comptroller candidate Mark Poloncarz received the endorsement of the Southtown's Democratic Club. The unanimous decision was made during an executive meeting held Saturday, August 20. The Southtown's Democratic Club is comprised of the towns of Brant, Boston, Collins, Colden, Concord, Eden, Evans, Holland, North Collins and Sardinia.

"I am honored to know that I have the unanimous support of the Southtown's Democratic Club," said Poloncarz. "I believe the club members responded to my call for independence in the comptroller's office. For too long, members of county government have recklessly spent our tax dollars. We need a comptroller who will stand up for the people of Erie County. I have a plan to do just that; to restore integrity and accountability to county hall and fiscal responsibility to Erie County."

"Mark is part of the new generation of leadership in this county," said Carol Marble, chairman of the Concord Democratic Committee. "Mark has spent his career in the private sector helping businesses thrive in times of fiscal crisis. We believe that he has the skills and leadership qualities to pull Erie County out of this mess and ensure that this never happens again."
