BUFFALO, N.Y. - Mark Poloncarz picked up a major victory in his bid to be the next Erie County Comptroller when the Service Employees International Union gave him their endorsement at a meeting held today. The local chapter of the SEIU was established in 1953 and has grown to more than five hundred members.
"I am honored to receive the SEIU's endorsement," said Poloncarz. "I believe the union members responded to my call for accountability and fiscal discipline in County Hall, just like voters across Erie County are responding to my candidacy. As stated in my ten point Action Agenda, I will make sure people's tax dollars are used wisely to get Erie County out of this mess, not perpetuate the problem through patronage."
Mark Poloncarz is a business and finance attorney in the private sector with a vision of new leadership for Erie County. He is endorsed by the Democratic, Independence, Working Families and Save Jobs Parties. For a current list of endorsements or more information about his campaign, please visit www.markpoloncarz.com.
