The Solidarity Task Force Political Action Committee today announced its endorsements for the November 8th election.
The Solidarity Task Force is a nonpartisan political action committee that was established in 2001 to promote the influence of Polish Americans in Western New York. Polish Americans comprise the largest ethnic group in Erie County.
"Mark Poloncarz, a proven leader, a very successful finance attorney and a rising star in WNY’s Polish American community, is strongly endorsed by the Solidarity PAC for Erie County Comptroller," announced Buffalo attorney Joseph M. Augustine, Solidarity Chairman.
"Mr. Poloncarz is the only candidate for County Comptroller who will be the tough independent fiscal watchdog that the taxpayers of Erie County desperately need," Augustine emphasized.
"Mark Poloncarz will lead an independent and nonpartisan County Comptroller’’s Office in the tradition of Henry Nowak and Alfreda Slominski," Mr. Augustine declared.
"Mark Poloncarz was raised in Lackawanna, where his values were developed," Joseph Augustine stated. ""His father is a retired steelworker. After her children were old enough, his mother became a nurse, and she recently retired from Mercy Hospital. Mark Poloncarz graduated from Lackawanna High School. He’s the first member of his family to graduate from college."
Poloncarz is the candidate of the Democratic, Independence and Working Families Parties to succeed Nancy Naples.
"Solidarity enthusiastically endorses Cheektowaga Councilman Thomas J. Mazur for election to the Erie County Legislature to succeed the legendary Raymond K. Dusza," Mr. Augustine revealed. "Tom Mazur has the experience in government to effectively lead the Legislature in working with the County Executive. He has the ability to reconcile divergent interests by bringing people together, and that is badly needed in Erie County."
"Solidarity believes that Cheektowaga Town Justice Ronald E. Kmiotek, a tireless public servant and a fair Judge, has compiled an extraordinary record that merits his re-election," Augustine disclosed. "Cheektowaga is a safer community because of Judge Kmiotek."
"Judge Kmiotek has enjoyed an outstanding reputation for treating all citizens fairly and has the respect of prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys."
"Deborah Bruch Bucki, a leader of Buffalo’s Polish American community, is an enormously talented professional who has the background to be an extraordinarily effective Councilwoman in the Town of Amherst," Solidarity Chairman Augustine stated.
Solidarity urges all citizens to exercise their franchise.
