Gach, currently the director of grant accounting services, has worked for more than 20 years in public sector finance - in the comptroller's office, the Budget Division, for the County Legislature and at Erie Community College.

Poloncarz will hire Michael R. Szukala as deputy comptroller for audit. Szukala is now the supervising auditor for the Buffalo comptroller's office.
