Poloncarz is best man for comptroller's job

Usually I agree with The News' political endorsements, but this time it struck out twice in a row. In the primary, the editorial board overlooked Mark Poloncarz in favor of Robert Whalen and the people gave a resounding "no." Now The News is shifting its recommendation to the Republican candidate. Do we really want someone of the same party as Joel Giambra? I am confident the people will answer with another loud "no." Poloncarz offers new ideas, tight fiscal reviews, a high level of integrity and total independence. These are qualities so desperately needed by Erie County.
